New from Detroit Drifting Co. - our high clearance blade-style front sway bar kit!
Designed with drifting in mind, our front sway bar increases side bite, especially at high steering angles. This will allow you to slow the car down with angle, reduce "floating" into/through corners, have snappier transitions, and drive the car with more throttle. In all, adding one of our sway bars to your Mustang drift car will allow you to confidently drive more aggressively and better utilize available steering angle.
Function:
Our sway bar is no wider than the width of the factory frame rails. For drifting, this means no wheel/tire interference at high steering angles. Installation is simple- the mounting brackets bolt up to factory frame rails utilizing the OEM sway bar mounting studs and one hole drilled per side. Endlinks attach to the lower control arm with supplied hardware (direct bolt-on when used with DDC OEM MAX control arms).
Sway bar mounting is modular, meaning the bar rate and diameter can change, but the mounting features stay the same regardless of torsion bar OD, making for quick changes at the track. Sway bar blade arms are heavy duty and feature 4 end link positions to accommodate many different control arm positions and provide fine adjustments to bar rate.
Compatibility:
Currently, our high clearance front sway bar has only been tested to be compatible with Detroit Drifting Co OEM MAX lower control arms. We are investigating compatibility with other brands of drift-style lower control arms. Compatibility/fitment with OEM style control arms/sway bar end link locations has not been confirmed at this time.
Rates:
We currently offer 3 different sway bar sizes that cover a wide range of possible bar rates. Please reference the rate chart to determine which bar is best for your application. Recommendations:
- ~400hp, 8k front springs, 235-245 width 300tw rear tire, mixed/casual use - 1.75 bar.
- ~400hp, 12k front springs, 245-265 width 300tw rear tire, mixed/casual use - 1.5B bar.
- 200-300hp, 8-12k front springs, 205-225 width 300tw rear tire, mixed/casual use - 1.5A bar.
- 400hp+, 8k+ front springs, 235+ width 300tw rear tire, comp use - 1.75 bar
