Upgrade your SN95 / New Edge Mustang's steering shaft firewall support bearing with this solid unit from Detroit Drifting Co!

IF you don’t want to upgrade to our HD splined steering shaft, this is the next best upgrade to eliminate the last bits of play in the steering system!

Key Features:

  • 100% bolt on replacement
  • Compatible with OEM and Maximum Motorsports steering shafts
  • Eliminates all rubber and plastic at the firewall support area
  • Tightens up play in steering system

Designed and manufactured in house, this bearing kit features a CNC machined billet aluminum adapter plate, heavy duty flange bearing, and CNC machined adapter sleeve to suit OEM or Maximum Motorsports steering shafts.

Our kit eliminates the problematic OEM plastic needle bearing that is housed in a rubber bushing. Over time, the rubber becomes soft, the bearing separates from the rubber, and/or the plastic wears out from years of use and heat. The OEM part is discontinued from Ford so, until now, you were left to pick between sloppy steering, getting a "better" one from a junkyard, or using the S197 version that still costs ~$150 from Ford.

When installing a Maximum Motorsports steering shaft, you're instructed to reuse the factory firewall bearing and RTV the OEM plastic sleeve to the MM steering shaft. This sleeve, which gets worn thin over the years, isn't actually the correct size for the DD style shaft that MM uses for their product to begin with. Our kit eliminates the OEM plastic sleeve, which is replaced by a precisely machined aluminum unit. For Maximum Motorsports shafts, we include a 3D printed plastic insert that seals off the DD shaft gaps to the engine bay; no more messy RTV!
