The coolant expansion tank (also known as a surge tank or swirl pot) is a part of the pressurized cooling system. Each surge tank includes a pressure cap style filler neck, 3 degas fittings, and 1 main system line. The degas lines are plumbed to the high points of the cooling system, such as the top of cylinder heads, intake manifold coolant ports, and top of radiator (NOT at the overpressure port). The larger main line located at the bottom can be easily tied in with a heater hose, radiator hose, or added fitting to radiator. These features allow the pressure side of the cooling system to constantly bleed any air bubbles to this tank, optimizing heat transfer capabilities of the engine's coolant jackets and radiator.

-3x female 1/8" NPT degas fittings (male -4an optional)

-1x female 3/8" NPT main line fitting

-Standard "large" sized filler neck allows for use of a wide variety of pressure caps (20psi cap optional)

-Brushed raw aluminum finish can be kept as-is, polished, anodized, painted, or powder coated

The integrated overflow tank (also known as recovery tank) inlet located at the bottom is plumbed to the surge tank's overpressure port, just under the radiator cap. This allows for unwanted air to be purged into the overflow tank when the engine is hot, and draws water back in to the pressurized system when the engine is cool. This large coolant reservoir also has a non-pressure relief fill cap for easy top-off. A vent port is located at the top should the tank become overfilled.

Please select degas fitting orientation:

-Right Side - if you plan to mount the tank on the right side (passenger) of the engine bay, the fittings will face towards the engine.

-Left Side - if you plan to mount the tank on the left side (driver) of the engine bay, the fittings will face towards the engine.


Please select mounting bracket orientation:

-Right Side - if you plan to mount the tank on the right side (passenger) of the engine bay, the bracket will be oriented towards the engine.

-Left Side - if you plan to mount the tank on the left side (driver) of the engine bay, the bracket will be oriented towards the engine.

***mounting brackets contain 3x M6x1.0 nutserts
